History
Reckitt Benckiser Group plc manufacture a range of branded health, hygiene, and home products. Also known as RB, the company operates in over 200 countries, making it highly successful. The company's brands span household cleaners, laundry detergents, furniture polishes, air fresheners, and dishwashing products, to name just a few.
Johann A. Benckiser founded the first part of RB in 1823, and later in 1840 Reckitt & Sons was established. Both companies focused on producing products to tackle health and hygiene in the home, including the well-known Dettol.
It was later in 1994 that the two companies came together and merged into the Reckitt Benckiser Group plc. In the same year, the company added Lysol Disinfectant to its portfolio - this is just the start of many big brands to come from RB.
In fact, by 2006, RB had acquired Boots Healthcare International and has continued to acquire plenty of household names throughout the decade. Today, RB’s brands can be seen in almost every home in the world.
