Meet the Blue Array Team
Founder of Blue Array
Schnieders spent over a decade working at the coalface of SEO, heading up in-house teams at companies like Zoopla, Yell and Mail Online prior to starting his own agency, Blue Array Ltd.
Having previously worked with SEO agencies as a client, Simon had an acute understanding of some of the frustrations clients can encounter with traditional agencies. Taking what he learned from this and from the big SEO campaigns he’d worked on, Simon struck out on his own to launch Blue Array Ltd, trademarking the term ‘consulgency’ to describe a unique blend of consultancy and agency concentrating on SEO services and nothing else. And the rest, as they say, is history.
In addition to heading up Blue Array, Simon also finds time to pass on his business expertise as an angel investor and advisor at ClickMechanic.com, an advisor to SafeBuy and as a mentor at 500 Startups, Wayra and Techhub.
Sean started his SEO career in 2009 after completing a BA degree in Journalism at the University of Chester. Over the last decade, Sean has spent time within various agency environments before joining Blue Array in 2016. He’s now largely responsible for day-to-day operations of the team.
Sean feels very fortunate he’s been able to develop a career in SEO, saying “it’s such an exciting industry to be a part of due to its ever-changing, incredibly fast-paced nature, and highly-supportive professional network. No two days are ever the same, and as most SEO’s will testify, we always need to be modifying our approaches based on Google’s ever-changing algorithms”.
We asked Sean “If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?”;
Without doubt – burgers. They’re such a simple food, yet my favourite by far. In fact, I have such a passion for burgers that I have my own blog where I review all of the burgers that I try from various restaurants!
Head of SEO
Versed in the world of marketing after completing a (BCom) degree in Marketing from the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2013 and having worked as a Marketing and Communications Assistant for a large city council, Kim adds to the synergy of the team and enjoys the technical nuances of SEO. Kim has spoken at BrightonSEO on automating key SEO processes using API’s and Google Sheets and is a regular speaker at industry meet-ups.

We asked Kim “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
I’d like to go back to Vancouver, Canada. Besides having a lot of family there, the surrounding region is absolutely beautiful all year round. Speaking of cold places, Antarctica is also on my list of places to go!
Lead SEO Director
James began his SEO journey whilst in university, learning the basics to score highly on several assignments. Since those early days, he has worked in both in-house and agency environments to provide best in class optimisations for some of the world’s largest multinational brands and household names. He has been a regular speaker at Brighton SEO and his work has been featured in various publications in the UK.
James leads the Blue Array Brighton office and is always ready to talk with you about your SEO needs and strategies.
We asked James “What’s your favourite thing to do in the summer?”;
“It’s a simple tradition but also one of my favourite things to do – At the start of summer, I wake up early, step into my garden and close my eyes. For a few moments, I can smell the sea air, hear the birds, feel the gentle breeze and the ground beneath my feet. It’s a moment of zen before the tourists descend on Brighton!”
Technical SEO Director
Tom Pool was Blue Array’s first hire and has excelled on the technical side of SEO. Tom’s engineering BTEC level has proven to be a solid foundation and he’s excited about pursuing his career with Blue Array.
We asked Tom “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
If I could visit anywhere, it would have to be Switzerland for the mountains, or somewhere north, where you can see the Northern Lights. I’m slowly ticking off each European country, and absolutely loving the different cultures!
Luci joined the Blue Array team having previously worked as a digital marketing manager at the cutting edge of smart home technology. Luci has a degree from the University of Exeter as well as a marketing diploma from the IDM. Having spent many years looking after all aspects of digital marketing in-house, Luci enjoys the buzz of agency life, and building relationships with clients.
We asked Luci “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
On my long list of places to go is Finnish Lapland; I’d love to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky, and speed across the snowy landscape with a team of huskies. Mush!
David began his career in 2004 after graduating from Oxford Brookes where he studied Business and Information Management. In recent times he has led digital marketing teams in both the outdoor retail and wealth management sectors. He is proud of juggling work and study to earn a Post Grad Diploma in Digital Marketing (with Distinction) in 2013.
David now wants to further his career by specialising in the world of SEO.

We asked David “Who is your hero?”;
Somebody I look up to in the world of sport is Cristiano Ronaldo. I’ve seen him play live a couple of times and he is another level. His obsession and drive to be the best is something to be admired.
After graduating with a degree in technology from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, Mike moved to the sunny shores of the UK. He has been involved in the search industry for over a decade, even running a digital agency during that time.
Reflecting on his career in SEO, Mike says “I have seen many changes and the industry has evolved in numerous exciting ways. I am always intrigued by the various strategies that can benefit forward-thinking companies.”
We asked Mike “What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?”;
“After hearing many stories of my mum’s life growing up on the foot of the mountain I have always wanted to climb Kilimanjaro. That and eat less peanut butter!”
Enrico has been working in SEO for around 10 years in three different countries: Estonia, Italy, and the UK. He specialises in international e-commerce websites, and believes in a human-first SEO approach, based on behavioural analysis.
In 2017 he co-authored a book about user-first optimisation, and remembers the experience fondly.
Born and raised in Sardinia, he moved out of there in 2000 to follow his one real passion: discovering and communicating with people from different places and cultures. He now lives in London with one wife and two cats. He listens to (a lot of) concept rock music, reads a lot, and must eat one pizza a week.
We asked Enrico: “What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?”;
“Well in Sardinia we have a couple of weird foods, my favourite being Casu Marzu, a semi-decomposed sheep cheese that contains live fly maggots: look for it online, I promise you won’t regret it”
Senior SEO Executive
Gregory recently completed his L3 Digital Marketing Diploma and is currently studying for his L4.
Working with a variety of clients partnered with developing his knowledge on SEO, Gregory believes that Blue Array is a place that can help him mature into an experienced SEO Executive. He is keen to pursue a career in SEO because he believes it is one of the most valuable assets for anyone who is trying to have an online presence.
We asked Greg “What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?”;
I would like to start my own clothing line or apparel company. The whole process of choosing the type of fabric to designing the packaging really interests me. I would want my clothing line to be based around streetwear but I’m yet to come up with a name so I’m open to any suggestions!
Jordan graduated with a degree in Business and Marketing in September 2017, which he obtained whilst also working in retail. He joined as an SEO Executive in March 2018, and has progressed into an SEO Manager role with Blue Array.
We asked Jordan “Who is your hero?”;
My hero would have to be Steven Gerrard – a complete leader, who could pull a moment of magic out of nowhere!
After finishing his degree in Creative Advertising from Falmouth University in 2016, Matt spent time working as a European Recruitment Consultant within the technology sector. Later moving to do a mix of marketing and content creation for a film festival company based on Pinewood Studios. He is very interested now in building his knowledge of SEO within Blue Array.
We asked Matt “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
I would love to go to Vietnam! It looks like an absolutely beautiful country with a whole lot of culture to experience. Plus, since learning about the Vietnam war in history i’ve wanted to see it up-close.
Steph arrived in the team after ten years in the education industry, having worked in a busy B2B marketing team. In 2018, she decided to specialise in digital, and is really loving the fast-paced and innovative world of SEO so far.
Her favourite parts of the role are playing with data, competitor research and learning lots of things about new industries.
We asked Steph “If you could be anyone other than yourself, who would you be?“;
”Leslie Knope from the TV show Parks & Recreation. She’s loyal, kind, ambitious and positive even when the odds are stacked against her.”
Nicky joined up with the Blue Array team after a varied professional career in ECommerce, Fashion Merchandising and Bar Management.
He has been exposed to Digital Marketing and SEO practices in his previous roles and sees a career in SEO as the perfect way to express his creative and analytical tendencies. Nicky has a Bachelors Degree in Music Production and enjoys recording and producing podcasts as well as making experimental electronic music.
He’s excited to start his journey with Blue Array and immerse himself in the world of SEO.
We asked Nicky “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
“I would absolutely love to go to Peru. I’m obsessed with Peruvian food at the moment and would love to explore the Andes or go to Machu Picchu.”
Senior Technical SEO Executive
While studying for her degree in Computer Games Programming, Vicky became interested in web development and design, but found her real passion to be in criticising and finding improvements to existing work. Upon discovering SEO, Vicky realised that she could explore this interest as a career path, and is excited to join the Blue Array team to do just that.
We asked Vicky: “If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?”;
“I’m fairly certain I could happily live off of curry for the rest of my life, so it would have to be that”
Luce joined Blue Array after two years of working in-house at an online travel agency. Prior to this, Luce graduated with a degree in Photography and worked in an agency where she gained her CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing.
Now back in an agency environment and specialising in SEO, Luce is fascinated by the ongoing development of search and enjoys collaborating with her clients.
We asked Luce: “What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?”;
“During my time in travel, I worked with Kennedy Space Center and got to try space ice cream! The texture reminded me of polystyrene…but it tasted awesome!”
Ben joined the team late in 2018. He’s a real marketing all-rounder with experience at a range of not-for-profits. He’s interested in the characteristics of high-performing teams and the relationship between creative and rational marketing.
Immediately before joining Blue Array, Ben helped to build and establish a content and resources team at a well-known education company.
We asked Ben: “What’s your favourite thing to do in the summer?”;
“Probably Kayak. A few of my hobbies are sports: running, cycling, swimming and climbing – but I pretty much only kayak in summer so I really miss it the rest of the year.”
Jamie joined the Blue Array team in January 2019, having previously worked for an IT training company, where he picked up a keen interest in SEO while working in a broader digital marketing and IT role.
Having seen the effect a strong SEO strategy can have on a business, Jamie is looking to specialise in helping websites rank well organically. In particular, Jamie is motivated by how the industry changes on a day-to-day basis and enjoys the fact that two days will never be the same in SEO.
We asked Jamie: “Who is your hero?”;
“Being a massive Chelsea fan having regularly attending matches from a young age, this has to be former Chelsea player and legend John Terry. ”
Chris graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Roehampton in July
2018. Whilst working for a small events company, Chris discovered SEO as a way of
increasing the business’s online presence. Chris quickly realised that he wanted to develop
a career in the SEO industry which is when he came across Blue Array. Chris says that
the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects, as well as the professional training, support and guidance is what attracted him to the specialist SEO agency.
We asked Chris: “What is your favourite thing to do in the summer?”;
“I enjoy keeping active and being outdoors in the summer; taking the mountain bike out and stopping for a pub lunch is a personal favourite of mine!”
Office Manager & Executive Assistant
Stephanie joined Blue Array in April 2019, after working in various different roles from retail management to conveyancing services. She is currently working on obtaining her Level 3 Qualification in Office Management along side her day-to-day role.
We asked Stephanie: “If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?”;
“Chinese or Japanese food any day or time of the week. No second thoughts. It is the best.”
After finishing her degree in Creative Writing from the University of Winchester, Chloe began working as a freelance writer and editor. Whilst she was editing everything from blogs to books, she wanted to learn and understand SEO. Nearly a year later, Chloe has joined the team to do just that.
We asked Chloe: “What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?”;
“Finally developing and then touring my one-woman poetry show – it’s an hour long and a nightmare to remember!”
Louise has joined the team after previously working in the fashion industry and setting up her own label. She has enjoyed maintaining her own website and social media platforms. Her business was supported by the Princes Trust Enterprise Programme, where she was introduced further into digital marketing, through training workshops and mentorship, which sparked her curiosity into the world of SEO. She is looking forward to developing and growing in this specialist area.
We asked Louise: “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
“I would love to explore more of Japan, after spending a month there during my travels. Iceland is also among my list of places to visit, it looks incredible!”
After 10 years working in the Aerospace Industry, Neil began his digital marketing career in 2004. Founder of a paid search business and successfully exiting his last venture, a mobile phone price comparison platform in 2015. “Algorithm updates and best practice have played a key part in my career over the years. I am delighted to now have the opportunity to specialise in SEO within such a talented and focused team.”
We asked Neil: “What was the last book you read?”;

Talent & Happiness Manager
Vicky began her HR career in learning and development consultancy, and after being made redundant decided to underpin her experience with a Masters in Human Resources Management and became a member of the CIPD. Vicky then spent 10 years working for a firm of management consultants as an internal recruiter, which evolved into a hybrid role in recruitment and HR. Vicky is new to SEO and is delighted to be able to be so intrinsically involved with such talented people within Blue Array.
Away from work, Vicky is a school governor and fundraises for the local Women’s Aid.
We asked Vicky: “What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?”;
“I would like to complete the London Marathon, it’s the only marathon that appeals to me. The atmosphere looks incredible.”
Business Development and Growth Manager
Laurent comes from a vastly experienced Systems Engineering background. He spent over a decade in working for Telecommunication companies, including managing global teams. Following a career break, Laurent successfully launched a vegan fashion brand in 2016, operating his own e-commerce business as well as partnering with major online marketplaces. He rapidly understood the power of digital marketing to drive revenue, especially through organic traffic and decided to further his career by specialising in the world of SEO.
We asked Laurent: “What attracted you to the role at Blue Array?”;
“I am very excited to be part of the Blue Array family. It was important for me to join a team of highly-skilled individuals, with high-standards and having fun at the same time!”
Following her graduation from the University of Nottingham, Beth completed several PR internships before taking on her first graduate role as Digital Marketing Assistant at a web design and marketing agency. It was during this time that Beth first became intrigued by the world of SEO and decided she wanted to specialise her knowledge and join a dedicated SEO agency.
Before joining Blue Array, Beth then spent 11 months travelling and volunteering in Asia, visiting the likes of Sri Lanka, Malaysian Borneo and The Philippines, where she completed her advanced scuba diving qualification.
We asked Beth: “What is one goal you’d like to achieve in your lifetime?”;
“It would have to be a toss-up between completing a trek to Everest Base Camp, or plucking up the courage to go shark diving in South Africa.”
Anna joined Blue Array in 2019 armed with a degree in Media Practice, a Masters in Computing and almost a decade’s experience in various digital and marketing roles spanning industries such as travel, consulting and food. She first became interested in SEO while learning how to drive traffic to her own travel blog, and is now excited to be able to help clients boost their online presence using best practice techniques.
We asked Anna: “What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?”;
“I’m a huge lover of wildlife and would love to run my own ethical safari lodge in Africa one day.”
Digital PR Executive
Since completing her degree in English Literature from the University of Reading, Jennifer finished a sports and consumer PR internship before joining the Blue Array team. Whilst studying, Jennifer also gained experiences in journalism, social media marketing and fashion retail, and is excited to keep developing her knowledge of digital PR and SEO with the team.
Elen graduated with a degree in Economics in 2015, which she obtained whilst also working in retail. She soon discovered her love for setting up creative and appealing displays and analysing sales data, so she became a Visual Merchandiser. She then worked as a Data Administrator for a marketing company, producing reports for FMCG clients. As a part time project, she would implement any digital marketing, SEO and web design knowledge she obtained through self-learning, while managing the company’s social media, website and PPC campaigns. She is now looking forward to developing and growing in this specialist area.
We asked Elen: “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”;
“If I could visit any place in the world, I’d choose to road trip Route 66. It crosses 8 states, passing through some of the most beautiful scenery and sounds like the adventure of a lifetime.”
Senior SEO Executive
Abi joined the team having spent two years at a Digital Marketing agency where she enjoyed working on an eclectic mix of projects. Prior to this, Abi spent three years as a Social Media Manager for a womenswear boutique while also copywriting for a number of well-known fashion sites. She’s excited to delve into the world of SEO and begin building relationships with clients.
We asked Abi: “Who is your hero? (a parent, a celebrity, an influential person in one’s life)”
“David Bowie, without any doubt. Ground-breaking, imaginative and influential for 5 decades – while wearing the best outfits!”
Laura graduated with a degree in Mandarin and Business Management from the University of Manchester in July 2019. She stumbled across SEO whilst optimising for her own website, and wanted to build on her SEO knowledge by joining a dedicated SEO agency. Whilst studying, Laura also completed several digital marketing internships and is excited to develop her skill set alongside a team of talented individuals.
We asked Laura: “What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?”;
“Probably chicken’s feet or duck’s tongue – it was surprisingly tasty.”
Digital PR Manager
For the past decade, Amie has worked in PR and marketing with B2B and B2C roles both in-house and agency. She loves public relations because she gets to meet so many different people and learn about lots of different industries – all in a fast-paced environment where there’s no time to get bored.
Before her PR career she spent seven years as a crime reporter in Chicago, where she is from originally. Amie says working as a journalist helped her understand what journalists are looking for from public relations, as well as what they aren’t. “Having that all-important news instinct has helped me get my clients some amazing coverage – it’s a great feeling to be able to deliver that from the other side.”
Amie’s first exposure to SEO was in a PR role where she was asked to manage a team of SEO executives and didn’t really understand what they did exactly. She quickly learned and is now looking forward to adding more SEO skills to her public relations knowledge.
We asked Amie: “What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?”;
“I have recently become obsessed with the goal of giving a TED Talk. I’ve probably watched more than I’d like to admit, and I’ve started reading books that dissect the best talks. Hopefully one day soon I’ll be interesting enough to give one – and get the opportunity!”
Ashby has worked in the payments and utilities industries, with Visa and Thames Water respectively, in which he found that his passion lay with his first office role at Yell where he helped design and maintain websites. He particularly enjoyed the SEO aspects of the job and when searching for a new role found the ideal fit for his skills at Blue Array.
We asked Ashby: “If you were an animal, what would you be and why?”;
“I would be an electric eel as they can generate their own power and they have no natural predators.”
Faith joined the Blue Array team in 2019 as an SEO executive after previously working in digital marketing. She graduated with a degree in English Language Studies from University of Winchester in 2018. Her obsession with linguistics, and its many applications, is what makes a career in SEO a perfect fit.
We asked Faith: “What’s your favorite cartoon character, and why?”;
“Olaf (Frozen) – Disney will always retain some magic for me and Olaf’s constant optimism and adorableness will never cease to make me smile. “
Senior SEO Executive
Starting within the entertainment analytics industry, Carl gained a wide knowledge of how a business runs, working his way up to the office manager position. He has always had an interest in the data-driven, analytical processes and upon discovering the SEO industry, knew that this is the path he wanted to pursue.
Carl started as a digital marketing executive for a large health and wellbeing company, working to promote their inhouse websites, all whilst developing his knowledge of the SEO. Looking to further his specialisation within the industry, Carl is excited to be a part of Blue Array.
We asked Carl: “What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?”;
“My neighbours and I love hosting a bbq, great food, great people and plenty of sunshine makes for a great time! We tend to start the projector for a classic movie or two as the night winds down.”
Hannah has recently graduated in September 2019 after studying Marketing at the University of Plymouth. Since discovering a particular interest in digital marketing through her degree, and completing the IDM Certificate in Digital Marketing, she is excited to learn and develop her knowledge of SEO with the team.
We asked Hannah: “If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?”
“I would really like to visit Italy. A lot of people I know have been and loved the cultural side, but mainly I want to go for the food because Italian cuisine is probably my favourite.”
James arrived at Blue Array in 2020 after completing a three year stint in the out of home advertising industry specialising on FMCG clients. Prior to this James worked in digital marketing across a wide breadth of specialisms including SEO at a startup agency in his hometown of Ipswich.
James is most looking forward to finding new and innovative ways of combining SEO with one of his main interests outside of work, psychology having just completed an MSc degree in the discipline of advertising psychology.
We asked James: “What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?”
“A nice long bike ride getting lost in the countryside.”
Elisha joins the Blue Array team after returning to the UK, from Dubai where she has been living and working for the past 3.5 years. She has held various senior finance positions in IT, service and retail industries. She has extensive experience implementing business streamlining, as well as improving and steering financial performance. Elisha is excited to join Blue Array and to apply her knowledge to transform our finance function.
We asked Elisha: “If you were an ice cream flavour, which one would you be and why?”
“I’d be roasted almond and salted caramel cake batter. Because its sophisticated, complex, sweet and a little nutty.”
